MEMPHIS, TN, August 24, 2017 — The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is pleased to announce that David E. Gordon of the law firm of The Law Office of David E. Gordon has successfully achieved recertification as a civil pretrial and civil trial advocate.
The NBTA was formed out of a strong conviction that both the law profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney’s experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.
Mr. Gordon is part a growing number of trial attorneys that have illustrated their commitment to bettering the legal profession by successfully completing a rigorous application process and providing the consumer of legal services with an objective measure by which to choose qualified and experienced legal counsel.
The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete includes:
- Demonstration of substantial trial experience
- Submission of judicial and peer references to attest to their competency
- Attendance of continuing legal education courses and proof of good standing.
Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Board certifications are the only distinctions awarded by non-profit organizations. The NBTA as well as all board-certifying organizations are committed to safeguarding the public’s ability to choose a good attorney.
Mr. Gordon earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School.
Mr. Gordon is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi. He has also handled cases before the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States in 1995. Over the course of his career, he has obtained numerous million dollar settlements on behalf of his clients.
Additionally, Mr. Gordon has been listed as a Super Lawyer in Tennessee eight times, including every year since 2011.
He is the author of the book, 19 Things You Must Know (and that the Insurance Company Won’t Tell You) If You’ve Been Injured in Tennessee or Mississippi, which is available through his law firm’s website.
Less than two percent of American lawyers are board certified, and Mr. Gordon is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification.
